It has been such a wake up call that this child does not, in fact, stop doing what he's doing when I give a firm, "NO!" like my eldest did at the same age.
NO NATHANAEL!!! Do NOT put that dirty rock in your mouth!!

I said, "NO!"

When he gets "corrected", we sometimes barely get a flinch, much less a cry.
Needless to say...the poor kid has been spending a lot of time being "corrected" or hanging in timeout.
And what a thrill it has been to discover that the door knob works both on the inside AND the outside!!
Now we can go IN the house when we're not supposed to and walk OUT of the house when we're not supposed to!
Hence...all of our doorknobs now look like this:
Yes. That is a sock. And yes, that is packing tape attaching it to the door knob. And yes, I believe they call this hillbilly childproofing. And let me tell you that it works! Seriously.
When all is said and done though, this kid has a zest for life. He never hesitates to be thrilled at the sight of an airplane flying high in the sky.
And it's hard to be frustrated with a little boy when he takes the time to pick a flower just for his mommy!
I love you my sweet gift from God! What a challenging, thrilling, character-building, and God-relying experience it is being your mommy!
