A Tender, Heat-Packin' Daddy

Once upon a time there lived a tender but 'tective daddy. One day he decided that his kids, Fred the girl bunny and T-Rex (who were both still in diapers, but almost potty trained), should have a lovely feast cooked for them. The daddy gently set up Fred in her chair and gave her a kiss. He told her to wait for her brother T-Rex. The daddy then decided that a picnic was a better idea and set up Fred and her brother T-Rex on a blankie for lunch. T-Rex got his bib on while Fred the girl bunny patiently waited. Finally, it was time to eat! Bunny ate fish and T-Rex ate chicken. OH!! OWWWW!! T-Rex accidentally bit his daddy on the finger!!! But he didn’t mean to. The daddy decided maybe a piece of bread would make T-Rex eat with a little less force. Then the daddy gave Bunny and T-Rex napkins to wipe their mouths. Finally it was naptime. The daddy cleaned up all the food and put it away.
Then he carefully placed Bunny and T-Rex in their crib. He tucked them in. Then he pulled them over to the sleeping fort where they would be safe. The daddy got his guns and set them down next to where he was going to sleep You never know when bad guys might show up! T-Rex and Bunny are so lucky to have such a safe and 'tective daddy, aren’t they? Well, their daddy went to go to sleep but then realized that they were not 'tected by a shield on the other side!

He went to get reinforcements and set them up. There! Now they were 'tected!

Ah…now he could relax and go to sleep.

The daddy finally settled down to go to sleep. And then, oops! He forgot that he needed chairs down by his feet too!

And then, OH, he wanted to take a picture of his own mommy sleeping in the well-'tected fort. And then he wanted to take a picture of himself. And then he settled down to go to sleep.

And then he decided to make sure the guns would work right so that he could 'tect his kids in case any bad guys came.
Yep. The rifle worked good.
Yep.
The hand gun worked good.
And yep. The plastic dart gun worked good too.
And then that tender, heat-packin’ daddy got a little upset when his mommy told him he had to take a nap for real.
The End.

Teri - this is AWESOME with a big fat capital A! Oh my goodness - I am so happy to have this all blogged out so you can show this to Hunter one day. What a super creative little man! I bet you were just dying laughing watching him do all of this!

I'm so glad that Hunter has a great imagination and is able to play by himself so well. I hope Nate is gifted the same way. But, with a mom like theirs, its almost guaranteed. Thanks for catching all of this so we can enjoy.

I love that the girl bunny is Fred. I wonder if we are still Mr. Jen and Mrs. Erick to him. Probably doesn't remember us. It has been way too long since we have seen the kiddos!

Cute
