Star Wars, More Legos, and Hunter's 8th Birthday!

It's amazing how much fun and excitement can occur when three little boys
find a cockroach in the road to torture with their light sabers and plastic gun.
Hunter has been hard at work writing and using his children's dictionary that I picked up at a garage sale for a couple dollars.  Recently he's been copying a word and its definition and then composing a nice, complete sentence using adjectives and plenty of details.  MUCH easier than full journal entries.
Hunter and his Classical Conversations classmates pitched in to help out the church where we hold our classes a couple weeks ago.  They spread pine mulch in all the flower beds.  :)  It was a blessing to see the children serving in that way.
I was able to sneak a photo of Levi eating (or inhaling) his banana snack at CC.  The child can down a banana in three bites.  No joke.  And yes.  I've tried to slow him down and teach him to take small bites, but he's quite happy eating it that way.
Hard at work playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the tin whistle at CC!
Hunter's class with their fantastic teacher, Mr. Van Slyke.
Hunter thoroughly enjoyed his Lego engineering class.
Here he and his partner made a lego structure that supported a cement brick!

Hunter and one of his good buddies, Max.
We celebrated Hunter's 8th birthday the Monday after I returned home from Kansas City helping out with my mom's surgery.  Hunter had received a bow for his birthday several weeks ago (as can be seen here), but was given some money to spend any way he wanted on the day we celebrated and he chose to purchase a Lego Star Wars Wii game.
We also took him out to a burger joint for his birthday lunch.
AND then we were off to a fun, new pool in our town!
Only in November in south Florida!
It is really great to have the choice to go out to a pool this time of year.

Then we headed home to enjoy some chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.
We have a friend that makes uh-MAZE-ing cakes.
Hunter told her he wanted a Jar Jar Binks cake and she delivered!
Words can't describe how thankful we are for this bright,
responsible, creative, funny, hard-working, leader in our family.
He's the best big brother we could have ever hoped for for our sons.
We love him more than words can express and he is such a blessing to our family.

Happy 8th Birthday, Hunter!
We love you!!!
