It's been 5 weeks since I took these photos of my mom leaving KU medical center
Since then she's been taking it easy at home and making progress.
She attends physical therapy three times a week and her balance is getting better day by day.
At first her right ear's hearing was overcompensating for the loss of hearing in her left ear and amplifying sounds 3-4 times louder than she was used too.
Over time the hearing loss has become more bearable.
She had a cognitive evaluation last Friday that revealed some short term memory issues and is waiting to hear back from insurance to see if cognitive therapy will be approved.
Mom has said she has good days when she feels real good and tends to overdo it.
Then she pays for it the next day.
She'll be headed back to work as a data analyst for Sprint after the first of the year.
The best thing about this whole ordeal is that she's had the opportunity to share how the presence of God and His love has become more real in her life as a result of this experience. Her pastor asked her to go before the church sometime in January to share her story and all that God has done in her heart and life from her having this brain tumor.

In the midst of all this she says that James 1:2-4 has become a daily reality for her.
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. All I have to say is how grateful I am to GOD that still have my mom and that she has made it through this relatively unscathed, considering. I know it will be a while before she can say she feels 90% (because I'm sure she will never feel 100% again...ever), but she knows that God had a great purpose in allowing her to experience this. And He is good!!
