August - Trip to the Beach!

Daddy says this all the time, "We might as well take advantage of the beach while we're here because some day if we move, we're really gonna miss it and wonder why we didn't spend more time there when we had it."

One Friday night in the beginning of August we headed out for an early dinner at our favorite restaurant, Sweet Tomatoes, and then off to the beach to play and watch the sunset.

Since we got an Ipad the boys are itching to use it ALL.  THE.  TIME.  I guess there'd be something wrong with them if they weren't.  So, in an effort to appease them I found these dry erase boards for $1, handed them to the boys in the back seat on the way to the beach, and called them "Ipads."   They liked their new Ipads!  :)
Levi hadn't been to the beach in a while, and it may be hard to see in the picture below, but he was scared when he saw the big ocean and didn't like the feeling of the shifting sand under his feet.
Once he got a shovel in his hand, he settled into a spot and stayed there playing in the sand for a good long while.  He enjoyed himself.
Digging a truck tunnel with Daddy.

It was a beautiful, warm evening.  The summer storms had stirred up the water and made it pretty murky instead of nice and clear like it sometimes is.  But that didn't stop us from enjoying it!

Check out the cuteness of this little silhouette in the sunset.

In other news, Levi thinks that pretty much anything that his brothers do is pretty awesome and he wants to do it too.  A few moments before this picture was snapped, two big brothers were sitting on chairs in time out for being too rowdy in the house.  When Levi saw his brothers sitting in time out, he figured it was the "cool" thing to do, so he joined them at the table.  His big brothers thought that was pretty funny!

Here's Levi in some super cute monkey pajamas and a little farm play house we have.  He loves to make all the animal sounds!
Last but not least, here's a picture of Levi drinking from his big boy glass and
using his big boy fork to feed himself!!
