Family Night - Homemade Pizza and a Movie

Sometimes Daddy has a high school football game to work on Friday nights in the fall.  If not, then it's family night on Friday nights around here.

One of our favorite family night activities is to make homemade pizza and watch a movie that comes in our mailbox from Netflix.

On this pizza/movie night, daddy and the boys made a run-of-the-mill pepperoni and pineapple pizza.  The boys love to help spread the sauce and put on their toppings.

Mommy made an exciting and delectable roasted pear and carmelized onion pizza with spinach, gorgonzola cheese, and roasted asparagus.  IT WAS DEEEEELISH!!  Unfortunately, mommy was the only person who thought so.  To each his own.

After pizza we settled in to watch our movie.  I'm always on the hunt for good family movies that are appropriate, have a positive message, and aren't too cheesey.  Recently we've watched Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, Savannah Smiles,  The Ransom of Red Chief, Ramona and Beezus, and The Princess Bride.

Tonight the pick was "Cowgirls and Angels".  It was about a young girl who joins a group of rodeo trick-riders.

While the boys thought the title sounded waaay too girlie at first, they really enjoyed the movie.  The little girl in it was more of a tomboy and the stuff they did on the horses was pretty cool.  It was a sweet movie.
Levi didn't really watch the movie, but crawled all over everyone on the couch and played.
And stuck his tongue out at his mommy for pictures.
And maybe there were some boring parts where the boys decided it would be more fun to pile up on top of each other instead of watch the movie.
The best part of the movie was when there was a line dance on!!
Hunter was very interested in learning a line dance after seeing how it was done on the movie.
Levi did a dance of his own!

 Mr. Levi LOVES to dance!
This wasn't on family night, but here's a short clip of him dancing:
