Kindergarten Rite of Passage

We love our church.  And it was with great excitement that we went to church this past Saturday night to watch our very own, big-time Kindergartener, Nathanael participate in a tradition we have at our church:  The Kindergarten Bible Presentation.  This rite of passage recognizes the kindergarteners as old enough to sit in "big church" and old enough to have a big kid copy of God's Word!  What a gift!

Here's our kindergartener on the big screen grinning as big he can grin as Miss Beverly and Pastor talk about how every kindergartener is important and that each of them will hear their name called as Pastor hands them their very own, special copy of God's Word!
Nathanael was SO excited!! He was clasping his hands and making fists and bending is legs up and down and fidgeting as if he wanted to jump up right in the air from happiness, but knew that would be a very naughty thing to do.  He contained himself well, grinning and grinning and looking all around at the lights and the people in the audience.
Nathanael's buddy, Nathanael, stood right next to him and got his Bible too!!  Nathanael made sure to point out that his friend's name was Nathanael too....
So happy!!
The Kindergarteners were dismissed back to their Island Kids classroom for photos with Pastor Wicker.  You would have thought Nathanael was waiting in line to see Santa Clause!  He was trying to contain his excitement in line as he waited and when he finally got up to him he grinned and took a great picture.
After church let out we took a second to snap a family photo.  Levi was insulted that Daddy picked him up and held him instead of letting him stand up on his own like a big boy. He was humiliated.  True story.  :)
Here's Hunter and Nathanael watching the video of Nathanael getting his Bible in big church on the car ride home.
One of the first things he did when he woke up the next morning was grab his Bible and settle in to give it a nice thumbing through.  It has lots of pictures of stories and seems like it's gonna be a great Bible for Nathanael!
Congratulations on being old enough for "big church" and for getting your very own copy of God's Word, Nathanael!

We hope and pray that this book will be the most precious possession will you ever own and that you will hide it's perfect and holy Words in your heart!

Here's a video of the presentation.  It's a little under three minutes long.
