Saying Goodbye and Hello

The month of August brings promotion weekend at our church.  This is the time when children say goodbye to the teachers they've had for a year and move up to their next class with their new teachers.
Levi said goodbye to Miss Laura and Miss Pam (sitting in the rocking chair in the back) in the nursery.  Levi so loved his class and his teachers that he literally would run to the door with a smile on his face and walk right into class like he owned the place.  We're sad to leave them.  :(
Here is Hunter with Miss Rose.  Hunter says she was a very good teachers and he really liked his first grade Bible and Life Group class.
This next picture is of one of our absolute favorite teachers in the FBCN children's ministry.  Mr. Dan!   Hunter had him when he was in the fours class and then Nathanael had him this past year in fours.  This man has showered our boys with so much love and attention and goofiness and we just love him!  Whenever we see him around church he always takes the time to stop and give Nathanael a big hug.  Nathanael just loves him and so do we!  We are going to really miss seeing Mr. Dan every week and we hope he's still around when it's Levi's turn to be in the four-year-old class!
Here are the boys the following week on promotion weekend!
Ready to go to their new classes!!!
Levi was not feelin' the picture.
 There he goes!
Levi was a little nervous heading into a new class, but Miss Vera made him feel welcome.
We love Miss Vera and remember it well when Nathanael was in her class!  She was very patient and caring with Nathanael and know that she will be the same with Levi.
She is such a great teacher with years and years of experience teaching little ones about God.
Here's Hunter with Mr. Montgomery, who is the greeter at Kids Town Worship.  Mr. Montgomery makes the children headed into Kids Town feel welcome and we are so thankful for his faithfulness in serving.

We haven't gotten a picture of Hunter's new Bible and Life Group Teacher, but we will soon!

Here is Nathanael with his new teacher, Mr. Curt!  Mr. Curt is in charge of Island Kids for Kindergarteners and it's a really neat and unique class that teaches kindergarteners how to get used to the way "big" church works.
Last week our Nathanael had his name drawn to be a song leader in Island Kids!  And here's the really cool part: there's ANOTHER boy named Nathanael in Island Kids with him and he spells his name the same way as our Nathanael AND he had his name drawn to be the other song leader that night!  What are the odds of that???

Since Island Kids is still very new to everyone, the Nathanaels didn't quite know the songs well enough to lead them.
But they sure tried their best!
Here's Nathanael with one of his very best buddies, Nicholas.  Nathanael and Nicholas are both in kindergarten this year.  Nicholas and his brother, Patrick, are both being homeschooled by their mommy this year using the same program as Hunter.

We love our church and feel so blessed that our boys have such rich experiences learning about God, His love for us, and His Word.   Here's to a great year!
